What NEFI is now
A public cinema knowledge and opportunity project for Northeast India.
What it does now
NEFI connects visitors to practical learning routes, sourced film records, research notes and external opportunities.
Regional scope
NEFI focuses on cinema connected with Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. The material available today is selective and will grow through careful, sourced work.
Long-term direction
The long-term direction is to build a stronger public record of the region's many cinema histories and make useful routes easier to find.
